Pull out the winder to set the time.
Winding clockwise both dials will move together, even if they are not set to the same time.
Winding anti-clockwise, the main dial will change, leaving the small dial where it was set.
The sun/moon dial sets to the main dial. If incorrect, advance clockwise 12 hours.
Example: To set main dial to 10:15 and small dial to 09:15
1) Turn hand clockwise to set small dial to 09:15
2) Turn hands anti-clockwise to set main dial to 10:15
3) Push winder in to engage movement
Setting Moondial
The moondial shows the moon at the top at midnight and the sun at the top at midday. To set day and night, wind the top forward 12 hours.
Opening A Double Hunter Pocket Watch
To open a double hunter case, press the button on top of the winder gently to open the front case. Press the button further to open both the front and back cases.
To close a double hunter watch, depress the winder, it is important that you don't "snap" the case-lid shut, doing this will wear out the latch.
Winding Mechanical Watches
We recommend that you wind your watch at about the same time every day, preferably in the morning. Turn the crown clockwise gently and steadily and stop when you feel resistance. Excessively forceful winding could damage the movement.
Typically, mechanical watches have an accuracy +/- 60 seconds within a 24-hour period. This is due to temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and altitude affecting the movement. For this reason, you should reset the time daily when winding the watch.
